The event saw residents and community groups join forces to reduce litter pollution and help keep the river healthy for everyone to enjoy.
On Saturday 8 June, residents and community groups volunteered their time to help clean up Chelmsford's rivers and the surrounding areas.
A community event to clean up Chelmsford’s rivers is taking place on Saturday 8 June at 9am.
Over the past couple of weeks, Chelmsford City Council have worked hard cleaning up litter from the waterways in the city centre.
Over 150 volunteers turned up for a Spring River Clean Up event to reduce pollution and protect local wildlife habitat and waterways.
Newly launched boat trips are now running through the city centre for the public to enjoy.
Chelmsford’s two main rivers, the river Can and the river Chelmer, are about to become the focal subject in a series of upcoming events.
