What’s On: Fireworks displays in Chelmsford for 2024
Bonfire Night is fast approaching and many of us are looking forward to an evening of fireworks. But, for some, this period of autumn entertainment can be a difficult time. Unpredictable and loud noises can be triggering and distressing for humans and pets alike.
So, if you want to enjoy all the season has to offer but also be mindful of the impact on others, why not go to one of the big, family displays in the district? Here’s our City Life round-up of some of the main events on offer.
Chelmsford Round Table Fireworks Display
Saturday 2 November
The Chelmsford Round Table event in Admirals Park on Saturday 2 November is a regular fixture in the city’s calendar. Now in its 49th year, it has great entertainment that keeps people coming back!
The event starts at 5pm with live music, delicious food and drink and even funfair rides. The fireworks begin at 7.30pm and this well-known display attracts families from across the county. The charity event supports local causes, with proceeds going back into the community – last year’s display funded equipment for Essex Search and Rescue.
Tickets are £12 for adults and £6 for children. Parking is limited, but Admirals is a short walk from the city centre, so walking or using public transport is recommended for those who can. Find out more about city council owned car parks in Chelmsford. Please note, no sparklers are permitted at this event.

Gates open at 4pm, with the display scheduled for 7.30pm, so there’s plenty of time beforehand to enjoy everything on offer. For a premium experience, VIP tickets are also available, offering access to a covered seating area, private bar and complimentary drinks.

Marsh Farm: Magical Evening of Family Fireworks
Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 November
We are lucky in Chelmsford to have great displays across the district and if you’re looking for something further south, Marsh Farm in South Woodham Ferrers has family fireworks events on both Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 November.
As the name suggests, along with a dazzling fireworks display, there will be family entertainment with rides, tasty food and delicious drinks. The fireworks are due to start at around 6.45pm, depending on the weather, and there’s plenty of free parking on site for you to whisk your little ones home in the car afterwards.
Tickets for non-members are £14.50 for adults, £14.50 for children and £4.99 for toddlers. Free entry to Marsh Farm is included in the ticket, so you can make a day of it if you wish and visit any time from 10am.

Battlesbridge Annual Firework Spectacular
Saturday 2 November
Another established evening of fireworks is held at Frasers in Battlesbridge. Their Firework Spectacular on Saturday 2 November opens at 5pm, with family fun and food stalls.
From 5–6pm, children can help create a Guy Fawkes for the bonfire – they just need to bring along an old pillowcase, trousers and long-sleeved top to join in! The bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm and the fireworks display starts at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £15 for adults and £10 for children. Children under two go free. Every ticket includes sweets and sparklers, too!

If you know about more public fireworks displays being held in the Chelmsford area, let us know and we can update this list.
Don’t forget, fireworks are beautiful but not appreciated by everyone! Enjoy the public displays but please be considerate of others if choosing to have fireworks at home to lessen the distress and disruption caused.
