Discover what’s on this Easter
If you’re looking for something to get you out of the house and entertained this Easter, look no further! There are many fun activities, shows and events happening around Chelmsford city centre for all ages to enjoy.
Chelmsford For You Presents: The Easter Egg Hunt
Calling all eggs-plorers – Chelmsford For You needs your help this Easter! Once again, the Easter Bunny has sneakily hidden Easter eggs on windows in the city centre. Businesses taking part can be found on the High Street, Springfield Road, Baddow Road, Tindal Street, Bond Street, High Chelmer, The Meadows and Duke Street.
Chelmsford For You is challenging everyone to find as many eggs as possible, so keep your eyes peeled for bundles of eggs drawn on each participating shop’s windows, then count how many you spot. Each bundle will have between 1 and 4 eggs and there will be 1 bundle per shop window. Once you have those all-important numbers, simply add them up and submit the total for your chance to win a host of exciting prizes.
Those who guess the correct number of eggs will be entered into a prize draw to win some egg-citing prizes, including hampers, Easter egg bundles and more!
Sounds like fun? Take part in the hunt anytime from today until Sunday 16 April! Find a full list of shops and the all important entry form (both available to download) via the Chelmsford For You website.
Go back in time to the Victorian era at Chelmsford Museum
If you’re into history, come down to Chelmsford Museum from now until April 16 to celebrate all things Victorian.
Many traditions like Easter egg hunts began during this period, and the Victorians also loved to decorate churches with flowers and even made their own personalised cards to send to loved ones.
Taking inspiration from these very Victorian pursuits, Chelmsford Museum has organised various free activities – no prior booking required. What to expect: tissue paper flower making and object handling to get a sense of what Victorian Easter was like. You can also enjoy 10-minute-long Museum Memories talks and a brand-new Easter-themed outdoor park trail.
