County and city council by-election results

Some Chelmsford residents went to the polls on 1 May to vote in by-elections for the county and city councils.
One election was to elect an Essex County Councillor to represent the electoral division of Chelmsford Central. The other was for two Chelmsford City Councillors to represent the Moulsham and Central ward.
The two by-elections were called following the resignation of Marie Goldman as a county and city councillor and Graham Pooley as a city councillor.
Essex County Council by-election results
David Loxton of the Liberal Democrats has been elected to represent the Chelmsford Central division in Essex County Council. The full results are as follows:
- Ronnie Bartlett, Green Party Candidate: 196 votes
- Darren Brooke, Reform UK - Changing Politics For Good: 869 votes
- David Loxton, Liberal Democrats: 2,030 votes
- Penny Richards, Labour Party: 227 votes
- Seena Shah, The Conservative Party Candidate: 956 votes
Turnout: 29.52%

Chelmsford City Council by-election results
Helen Ayres and Seán Manley of the Liberal Democrats have been elected to represent the Mousham and Central ward of Chelmsford City Council. The full results are as follows:
- Helen Ayres, Liberal Democrats: 1,384 votes
- Ronnie Bartlett, Green Party Candidate: 200 votes
- Darren Brooke, Reform UK - Changing Politics For Good: 572 votes
- Simon Andrew Lowe, Reform UK - Changing Politics For Good: 541 votes
- Seán Manley, Liberal Democrats: 1,285 votes
- Edward Massey, Green Party Candidate: 143 votes
- Penny Richards, Labour Party: 191 votes
- Seena Shah, The Conservative Party Candidate: 477 votes
- Renga Subramanian, The Conservative Party Candidate: 411 votes
- Oli Winters, Labour Party: 128 votes
Turnout: 27.16%
