Chelmsford City Council supports National Apprenticeship Week
This week (7-13 February) is National Apprenticeship Week, and there is no better time to talk about the opportunities that Chelmsford City Council offers across its departments.
With an apprenticeship you can earn while you learn, obtain qualifications, and realise your potential. Apprenticeships also give you the chance take the first step in your career, move up the ladder, or re-enter work after a career break. You can develop your practical skills while in a work setting and get support from your colleagues and training provider.
So, what do the council’s apprentices have to say?
The City Council is keen to help staff develop themselves both professionally and personally and its current apprentices have done just that. Here are some of their experiences and advice first-hand:
“"In just a couple of months I have gained so much more than I expected. I have already learnt multiple digital marketing skills and software, and I have gained first-hand experience in this field’s type of work.’
Jessica, Level 4 Digital Marketing
"I have gained confidence in both my learning and work. The apprenticeship structure encourages me to explore things and use my initiative."
“"It’s great to have an additional positive focus that’s linked to work, as well as your own professional development. I have been able to continue my professional development within the industry I am in."
George, Level 3 Personal Training
“"I have changed as a person since doing two apprenticeships at the council. Before, I would consider myself as a shy individual, but now I feel confident and have become a valued member of my team. My level 4 course has taught me many skills that I have been applying to my role. I have improved massively and would recommend an apprenticeship to anyone and everyone. I think they are so worthwhile and underrated!"
Rebecca, Level 4 Public Relations and Communications
