Celebrate Bonfire Night 2025 at one of Chelmsford’s public displays
Bonfire Night is coming around once again soon and many of you will be excited for the return of mesmerising fireworks displays to brighten your November evenings. But we should all be mindful of the fact that fireworks aren’t enjoyed by everyone. For pets, wildlife and many people within our community – such as parents of young children and people living with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, autism, or anxiety – the loud noises and bright lights that come with fireworks can be triggering and distressing.
The best way that you can remain considerate of others while enjoying Bonfire Night is to attend one of the spectacular public displays held across the district. Here’s a round up of some of the most popular ones:
Battlesbridge Annual Firework Spectacular
Saturday 1 November 2025
Kicking off Bonfire Night events this year is Fraser’s in Battlesbridge, with an evening combining fireworks with the spooky spirit of Halloween.
Alongside a dazzling display of fireworks, there’ll also be the chance to make a traditional Guy Fawkes for the bonfire (just bring along an old pillowcase, trousers, and a long-sleeved top), inflatables for children (weather dependent), food stalls, and free sparklers and sweets on entry. Fancy dress is also encouraged!
The Guy Fawkes making starts at 5.15pm, with the bonfire being lit at 6.30pm and fireworks launching from 7.30pm.
Tickets are £12 for adults and £7 for children when booked online, or £15 for adults and £10 for children on the gate. Under twos go free.

Marsh Farm Family Fireworks
Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 November 2025
Over in South Woodham Ferrers, Marsh Farm is hosting two magical evenings of fireworks.
This isn’t only an evening of thrilling fireworks – there’ll also be additional family entertainment, from fire breathing to children’s rides and plenty of tasty treats, there’s something for everyone! Plus, you can make it a fun-packed family day out on the farm any time from 10am, ahead of the fireworks display starting from 6.30pm – all included in your ticket!
Tickets for non-members are £14.50 per person and £5 for toddlers. Babies under six months go free.

Chelmsford Racecourse Fireworks Spectacular
Sunday 2 November
Another regular fixture in the calendar is Chelmsford Racecourse’s Fireworks Spectacular. Along with stunning fireworks, the event also has a funfair, street food stalls, and bars featuring live DJs.
Gates open at 4pm, with the display scheduled for 7.30pm, so there’s plenty of time beforehand to enjoy everything on offer.
You must book your tickets in advance for this one, with on-the-door sales not available. Standard tickets are £17.50 for adults and £10 for children. Under threes go free.
For a premium experience, VIP tickets are also available at £25 for adults and £15 for children, offering access to their covered Summer Marquee with a private bar and viewing terrace, a welcome drink of mulled wine or hot chocolate, and complimentary parking.

Chelmsford Round Table fireworks display
Saturday 8 November
Finally, Chelmsford Round Table wraps up Bonfire Night season in Chelmsford with their stunning display in Admirals Park, and this year they’re celebrating an incredible 50 years of events!
This fireworks display is the only one held in the city centre, and all income raised from it goes directly to local charities, including mental health charity Mind. After 50 years of experience, Chelmsford Round Table is pretty good at putting on a great show! This year there’ll be the usual fantastic fireworks display, as well as a family funfair, live DJ and entertainment stage featuring performances from Chelmsford Springers and Funk2K. Plus a bar and a wide selection of caterers.
Gates open from 5pm with the grand display starting from 7.30pm. Advanced tickets are £12 for adults and £6 for children or £13 for adults and £7 for children on the day. Under threes go free.
