Ward candidates named for Little Baddow, Danbury and Sandon

Three candidates will be standing for election to Chelmsford City Council in the Little Baddow, Danbury and Sandon ward on 5 May.

Voting In Ballot Box

The council is holding the by-election following the resignation of Cllr Bob Shepherd. The three candidates are Sue Baker (Liberal Democrat), Stephen Edward Capper (Labour) and Steph Scott (Conservative).

This is your opportunity to choose who will represent you, so the council is encouraging everyone to take part.

Your council is responsible for providing and overseeing local services, from housing and environmental health to arts and leisure, and your councillor looks after concerns and issues in your neighbourhood, so it is important to make your voice count.

Everyone eligible to vote should have received their polling card. You can check where your polling station is on your poll card or by searching your address on the council website.

To vote in these elections you have to be registered in your ward. You can check your ward on the map. If you are not registered to vote, you need to register on the GOV.UK website by midnight on Thursday 14 April.

If you voted in the last election and have not moved or changed your details since then, you do not need to register again.

Voting by post

For many people it is more convenient to vote by post, so please remember that the deadline to apply for a postal vote is Tuesday 19 April. You can find more information about your council and elections.
