Chelmsftheatre

Angela Barnes: Hot Mess

Angela Barnes

Angela Barnes, who you may have seen on Mock the Week, Live at the Apollo and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, will be coming to Chelmsford Theatre on Friday 15 September at 8pm.

Be prepared for blunt, relatable, and amusing stories from Angela on trying to live her best life but not quite managing it!

Susie Dent presents: The Secret Life of Words

Have you ever wondered what bugbear really means? Whatever happened to the word gormful? Or why there’s a silent ‘h’ in ghost? Susie Dent answers these and other important questions at the theatre on Saturday 16 September at  3pm.

Susie Dent presents: The Secret Life of Words will explore the peculiar, unexpected, and fantastical origins of words we use daily.

Audience participation is also encouraged. Susie will be welcoming your questions about word origins, usage irritations, the impact of Americanization, and the future of our language.

You’ll even get to enjoy Susie’s stories of the funniest moments from her 30 years on Countdown and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.

Bridget Christie: Who Am I?

Critically acclaimed comic, Bridget Christie, is coming to Chelmsford Theatre to talk all about the joys of her mid-life crisis on Wednesday 18 October, 7.30pm.

Laugh-out-loud to a side-splitting rant from a menopausal, furious, and sweaty lady who is annoyed by everything. Bridget can’t ride the motorbike she bought to combat her mid-life crisis because of osteoarthritis in her hips and RSI in her wrist. She also wonders why there are so many films made by men about young women discovering their sexuality, but none about middle-aged women forgetting theirs!

If this is in any way relatable, you won’t want to miss this brand-new show from the Channel 4, Netflix and BBC Radio 4 star.

The Scummy Mummies

Scummymummies
