Chelmsford’s parks win 17 Green Flag Awards in 2021
Seventeen of Chelmsford City Council’s main parks across the city have received the Green Flag status in 2021. Two new sites – Galleywood Common and Frankland Fields received a Green Flag for the first time this year.
The Green Flag Award scheme recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green spaces. It sets the benchmark for managing recreational outdoor spaces across the United Kingdom and the world. As the scheme celebrates its Silver Jubilee this year, a record-breaking 2,127 parks sites across the country received a Green Flag.
Additionally, Admirals Park, Hylands Estate, and Oaklands Park have been awarded the Green Heritage Accreditation – a special recognition for Green Flag Award winners that actively conserve and promote the historical features of their sites.
