Chelmsford City Sports have launched a Forever Active project which aims to encourage residents of Chelmsford to become more active after the pandemic. In particular, the scheme will help to rebuild strength, balance, and confidence and offers a wide range of sessions.

If you feel that your body has become deconditioned from the various lockdowns or are at risk of experiencing trips and falls (or know someone who is), then these sessions could be the perfect fit. Introducing more movement into your week could also help towards improving your mental health and wellbeing.

Sessions include keep fit classes, seated exercise, and yoga. Many activities take place in village halls and parish buildings, so you should be able to find something near you. Activities with Forever Active could be individual with a supervised gym session. It could also be through classes which add a social element to meet new people.  You can browse the full directory to see what’s on offer on the Chelmsford City Sports website.

Information for activity providers

Local clubs, organisations or class instructors are also encouraged to get involved who cater for coaching and conditioning those who wish to regain/increase strength and mobility. If this sounds like you, you can contact the Community Sport and Wellbeing Team via their online form. Once accepted, the team will add you in their list of directories. They will also arrange for you to appear in the Active Essex activity finder too.
