City Council by-election results for Writtle

On Thursday 1 July, the residents of Writtle voted in Andrew George Thorpe-Apps of the Conservative Party as their new City Councillor.

There had been a vacancy in the ward following the death of a sitting Councillor.

The result was announced at 11.20am on the morning of Friday 2 July.

Results in full:

Ronnie Bartlett, Green Party candidate: 78 votes
Lynne Valerie Foster, Liberal Democrat: 572 votes
Edward Paul George Massey, Labour Party: 67 votes
Andrew George Thorpe-Apps, Conservative Party: 716 votes

Turnout: 35%
