Coming to a big top tent in Central Park this March, the 3foot People Party will capture your little one’s imagination and fill them with wonder.

From 16–18 March, small (and big!) people will be inspired by an array of activities. With something on offer for everyone, the teaser event will feature sports, music, theatre, storytelling and art.

Energetic activities for little tots

Plenty of sporty activities will be on offer for busy bodies. Mini athletes can try their hands at rugby with Little Scrummers; Karate with Kaizen Kai; and golf with the School of Golf. Activitots introduces under 5s to physical activities with ‘have a go’ multi sports. Also look out for Chelmsford Sports and Athletics Centre, Get In Kids and balance bikes!

And, of course, there will be a chance for little party goers to just let off some energy in Mace Playce’s soft play tent!

Stories to capture the imagination

Peak your little one’s curiosity with storytelling sessions from 3foot favourite, Mike Dodsworth. Mike returns with well-loved tales from around the world to captivate all ages.

Further introduce your child to language and literacy with engaging and innovative classes Phonics with Robot Reg and Talking Tots.

Interactive theatre sessions will also be available to enjoy. Travelling Theatre Box uses drama, song, music, dance and props to ignite the imagination. While Booster Cushion provides comical retellings of classic tales that place the audience in a starring role.

Creative sessions to inspire

For the musical prodigies, Glastonbabies provides non-stop interactive music making, while Jo Jingles and Moo Music (selected sessions only) offer a lively introduction to music. Sessions from Sing & Sign share the value of music in building speech and language development in babies.

Painted Peppermint (selected sessions only) brings artistic ceramic painting and face painters will also be on hand at all sessions to release your toddler’s inner butterfly, fairy or tiger.

Councillor Marie Goldman, Deputy Leader for Chelmsford City Council and Cabinet Member for Connected Chelmsford, welcomes the long-awaited return of 3foot People events in 2023.

“3foot People events are so dear to parents and carers with young children and they’ve been much missed these last few years. The 3foot People Party teaser event in March gives families a chance to experience the joys of 3foot before the much-loved main festival returns this summer. I’m certain that little tots just adore all the immersive, sensory activities that March’s event will bring.”

Opportunities to rest and refuel between activities

Don’t forget to stop for a rest and light refreshments amidst all the excitement. Hot and cold refreshments will be available to purchase including sourdough pizza, hotdogs (with veggie alternatives) and candy floss. Alternatively, you can bring a picnic to enjoy in the park (please note glass is not permitted in Central Park). Toilets, baby feeding and baby changing facilities will be available. Accessible facilities will also be provided, though please note the nature of the site as a greenfield site.

Limited tickets still available

The 3foot People Party is aimed at preschool children, but older children may accompany their younger siblings with a valid ticket on Saturday 18 March.

Limited tickets are still available, with two sessions per day: the first starting at 09.30am and the second at 1.30pm. Tickets are £8 per person, £4 for under twos and £4 for accompanying siblings aged 6–15 (Saturday only). Book soon at  www.chelmsfordtheatre.co.uk to avoid disappointment!
