Ping! Five new table-tennis tables come to Chelmsford
Recently, the City Council has joined up with Ping! to bring five new table-tennis tables to Chelmsford, making a total of 19 across the city.
The whole community can get involved and enjoy games of ping pong for free! Chelmsford residents have welcomed the new tables so far – read below to find out the new locations. The Mayor of Chelmsford even showed her competitive streak as she took part in a game with local people on the table in Little Waltham.
Equipment can be provided from your local parish council or the Civic Centre reception if you don’t have your own. Keep reading to find out more…
So, where are the new tables?
The location details for the five new ping pong tables are:
- Great Baddow Recreation Ground Baddow Road, CM2 9RL
Residents can pick the bats up from the Grounds Office at Great Baddow Recreation Ground on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9.30am to 3pm. - Little Waltham Recreation Ground, Brook Hill, CM3 3LN
Residents should contact the Parish Clerk at clerk@littlewaltham.org.uk with their request. - The Hooe Playing Fields, Bicknacre, CM3 4XW
Residents should contact the Parish Clerk on 07931 558125 with their request. - Champions Manor Hall, Hullbridge Road, South Woodham Ferrers, CM3 5LJ
Bats and balls available on site - Pleshey Village Hall, The Street, Pleshey, Essex, CM3 1HE
Residents should contact Russell Pearcey at russellpearcy@me.com with their request.
If you live in one of these parishes, you can collect a set of bats and balls from your local parish council or designated contact person.

If you would like to use one of Chelmsford’s ping pong tables but don’t have your own equipment, you can request a free set of bats and balls by emailing csaw@chelmsford.gov.uk and collecting from the Customer Service Centre at Chelmsford City Council in Duke Street on weekdays between 10am to 4pm. Bat and balls are available on a first come, first served basis (one per person).
