Ways to access Beaulieu Park station revealed ahead of opening

Train users can begin planning journeys to and from Beaulieu Park as fares and travel options to Chelmsford's new station are revealed ahead of its expected opening on Sunday 26 October.
The first new railway station on the Eastern Mainline for over a century will be operated by Greater Anglia and provide travel to London Liverpool Street in 40 minutes and Chelmsford station in just 4 minutes.
New station designed as a transport hub
With a taxi rank, drop-off areas and a bus interchange, there are plenty of ways to travel to and from the station.
These include:
• Bus connections – the C11, C9, C8 and 73 operated by First will be extended to stop at Beaulieu Park Station from opening day
• Driving routes – road users will be able to reach the station via the new A131 Beaulieu Parkway relief road, which connects to Essex Regiment Way in the west and the Boreham Interchange to the east
• Car parking – car parks run by Chelmsford City Council and another by Greater Anglia (providing 752 parking spaces in total), including 38 free-of-charge bays for Blue Badge holders and 10 electric vehicle charging points
• Walking and cycling – improvements to local routes with some new paths created. Cyclists can choose between free covered bike storage and paid secure storage at the station

Facilities and fares
Within the station building, there is step-free access, two lifts to its three platforms and braille throughout. Other features and amenities include accessible toilets for passengers, baby change facilities, ticket vending machines and space for retail and catering.
Information about fares and ticket prices are now available on the Greater Anglia website and app. An off-peak day return from Beaulieu Park to Chelmsford is set to cost £4, rising to £5 during peak hours.
An off-peak day return to London Liverpool Street is priced at £28.20, 7-day season tickets will cost £134.60 and a day return to London Liverpool Street during peak hours will be £42.60.

Station opening earlier than planned
The station will transform travel in the north of Chelmsford as it eases pressure on the city’s existing train station and reduces car journeys into the city centre.
Essex County Council in partnership with Chelmsford City Council began the delivery of Beaulieu Park Station after securing funding in June 2022, with construction beginning in March 2023.
Previously expected to open in 2026, good progress has been made in construction by Network Rail and its contractor Murphy. This means Beaulieu Park Station is now due to open earlier than planned, with its launch anticipated to be the last weekend in October once all required railway industry consents are finalised.
