Get Better in Chelmsford supporting more local businesses in 2026/27
Chelmsford’s business community is set to benefit from an expanded year of support as Get Better in Chelmsford prepares to return for 2026/27. Delivered by Better Agency in partnership with Chelmsford City Council, the programme has already helped hundreds of local businesses develop their skills, refine their marketing strategies and connect with peers across the district.
The refreshed programme aims to make 2026/27 the most ambitious year yet, offering larger events, more hands-on support and new opportunities for businesses to learn, collaborate and share their success stories.
A thriving business landscape
Chelmsford is home to a diverse and growing mix of organisations, from early-stage start-ups and creative entrepreneurs to established SMEs and expanding employers. As the city continues to grow, the need for clear, practical business support is greater than ever.
Get Better in Chelmsford responds directly to this need, equipping businesses with the tools and confidence to grow sustainably in a changing economic environment.
What’s planned for 2026/27?
The next phase of the programme will introduce fresh opportunities for local businesses to build skills, expand their thinking and connect with others. Activity will focus on three core elements designed to support businesses at different stages of their journey.
1. Inspiring events focused on real business challenges
A series of ‘How To’ events will bring local businesses together to explore the issues that matter most. These sessions will offer clear, practical advice on topics such as:
- Building stronger digital foundations
- Improving marketing and lead generation
- Understanding and adopting AI
- Strengthening business propositions
Led by Better Agency specialists and guest speakers, each session will combine expert insights with opportunities to network with other local business owners.
2. An enhanced Get Better Academy
The Get Better Academy remains a core part of the programme, offering action-focused workshops where participants work directly on their business. Sessions will cover areas including:
- SEO and website optimisation
- CRM and sales pipeline development
- Demand generation planning
- Practical AI tools and workflows
- Campaign planning and delivery
Each cohort also forms its own supportive network, helping participants stay motivated and connected long after the Academy concludes.
3. A new series of the Get Better podcast
A fourth podcast series will continue to shine a spotlight on the stories behind Chelmsford’s business community. Featuring local founders, Academy participants and inspiring success stories, the series will celebrate the people driving innovation and growth across the city.
A programme shaped around local needs
The 2026/27 programme has been designed to give local businesses a steady stream of opportunities to learn, connect and grow. ‘How to’ events, Academy workshops and podcast production will take place across the year, ensuring that businesses can access support at the moments that matter most to them.
