Cult classic Heathers the Musical is coming to Chelmsford Theatre
Chelmsford Theatre is set to host the latest UK tour of the West End stage show, Heathers the Musical. The cult classic will come to the theatre for eight performances only, from Monday 19 to Saturday 24 April 2027.
Tickets are on sale to Chelmsford Theatre members now and go on sale to the wider public from 10am on Wednesday 27 May.

Based on the iconic 1989 film starring Winona Ryder and Christian Slater, Heathers the Musical follows Veronica Sawyer, a student at Westerberg High, where popularity is a matter of life and death. Veronica’s dreams of popularity finally start to come true when she’s taken under the wings of the three beautiful, yet impossibly cruel Heathers. But when mysterious teen rebel JD arrives in town, Veronica realises that whilst it might kill to be a nobody, it’s murder being a somebody…

With three smash-hit West End runs and three record-breaking UK and Ireland tours under its belt, Heathers has become a fan-favourite.
The musical first premiered in Los Angeles in 2013 to sold-out audiences before transferring to New York’s New World Stages in 2014. Its 2018 London debut presented a reimagined production, featuring new songs and a reworked script.
Dubbed “An outrageous, irrepressible musical” by the New York Times, it won the 2019 WhatsOnStage Award for Best New Musical. In recent years it has also toured Australia and New Zealand. This new tour will see the production appear in venues across the UK, including a run in Chelmsford in April 2027.
Produced by Bill Kenwright Ltd and Paul Taylor-Mills, Heathers is the latest in a string of Bill Kenwright productions to come to Chelmsford Theatre, including the legendary Blood Brothers.
This latest production is directed by acclaimed American screen and stage director Andy Fickman, with choreography by Gary Lloyd, design by David Shields, lighting by Ben Cracknell, sound by Dan Samson musical supervision by Jeremy Wootton and Will Joy.
