Boreham residents to vote in Neighbourhood Plan referendum
Boreham residents will be able to vote in an upcoming planning referendum on Thursday 30 July 2026.
The Boreham Neighbourhood Plan has been developed by Boreham Parish Council.
The plan covers the whole parish and includes planning policies on village character, the built environment, the natural environment, access and movement, and community facilities.
What is a Neighbourhood Plan?
Neighbourhood plans allow town and parish councils, or other qualifying organisations, to take the lead in shaping development in their local area in a way that reflects the community’s needs. This can include creating development plans, community plans and planning orders. Chelmsford City Council supports groups to create these plans and make decisions at key stages.
Following wide community consultation, Boreham Parish Council has developed a neighbourhood plan that it believes will benefit the local community. Residents now have the chance to vote yes or no on whether the plan should be used.
