Residents are invited to join Chelmsford’s Holocaust Memorial Commemoration Day happening on Wednesday 27 April at the Civic Centre. The commemoration is organised by Chelmsford Jewish Community to remember the millions of people murdered in the Holocaust under Nazi persecution.

During the event, there will be a live musical performance, poetry and spoken word by local performers, first-hand testimony from Holocaust survivors, and presentations on why genocide must continue to be resisted every day.

On 27 April we commemorate Yom HaShoah, the date of Holocaust Memorial Day in Israel. The Chelmsford Jewish Community, working with Chelmsford City Council, will bring local people together to remember the six million Jews murdered during the Holocaust, alongside the millions of other people killed in genocides that have followed all over the world and which, unfortunately, we still see today. We must remember and strive harder to ensure such atrocities do not happen again.
