Collect at-home testing kits at our leisure centres

From next week you’ll be able to pick up free Covid-19 home-testing kits at Chelmsford City Council’s four leisure centres. As of Monday 26 July, packs of lateral flow tests will be available at Riverside Leisure Centre in the city centre, Chelmsford Sport and Athletics Centre in Melbourne, Dovedale Sports Centre in Old Moulsham and at South Woodham Ferrers Leisure Centre.

Collect self-testing kits from Riverside Leisure Centre from Monday 26 July

No booking required to collect free kits

You don’t need to book or do anything in advance, just pick up a pack or two when you’re visiting the centres for a workout or just passing by. The kits will be available during the centres’ full opening hours and you don’t need to be a customer to collect them. Details about all the centres, including their addresses and opening times, can be found on the Chelmsford City Sports website.

Only self-test if you don’t have symptoms

Lateral flow tests are tests that you can do at home if you don’t have Covid-19 symptoms. If you do have symptoms of Covid-19 or if you need to self-isolate, do not travel to a collection site like the leisure centres to pick up these tests. If you have symptoms, get what’s known as a PCR test and self-isolate, even if your symptoms are mild.

More news about Chelmsford pop-up sites soon

Look out for more news about pop-up sites for testing kits in the weeks to come, and if you’re not able to travel to a collection site, self-testing kits can still be ordered online to be posted to you at home: https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests.
