Many of us are feeling low at the moment. It’s been a difficult 15 months and the stresses of life have taken their toll. So from Wednesday 12 May, Chelmsford Sport & Athletics Centre are offering free wellbeing activity sessions for anyone who needs them.
Exercise – even light exercise – can help to change the way you feel. It makes your body produce endorphins, which create happier, more positive feelings. In this City Life writer’s experience, when you’re feeling down and finding it difficult to focus, even a gentle walk can rejuvenate the mind and bring you back to yourself.
Activity leaders will be on hand at CSAC with plenty of options to get your body moving and your heart pumping. Whether you’d like to whack your frustrations with some table tennis, get bouncing around with badminton, enjoy a social led walk or relax with guided meditation, there’s something for you.
Wellbeing support
A support team are also on hand before and after each session. They are there for anyone who’d like to talk confidentially about their day-to-day worries. They’re friendly, discreet professionals who will make you feel at ease and help you to explore things that might help.
