It’s been a tough year for sports clubs, exercise groups and charities. Many are finding that membership levels have dropped as people fell out of their active habits during lockdown.

To help local clubs and people to get back to enjoying healthy lives, the city council is offering free advertising for sport and activity organisations this spring.

Chelmsford Spring Back Into Action is a one-stop shop for open days and come-and-try sessions in the area. If you’re holding a have-a-go session, you can add it to the list and the council will tell local people about it.

Your event can be for new or lapsed members of any age. It doesn’t have to be a mainstream sport like football or tennis – walking groups, archery clubs, charities offering activity sessions and yoga classes are all welcomed to take part.

It just needs to involve moving your body and be in the Chelmsford council district. Not sure which district your activity is in? Check using the government’s online postcode finder.

To list an activity, all you need to do is head to www.chelmsford.gov.uk/spring and click the ‘Include your activity’ button.

Questions? Email the council’s community sport team at csaw@chelmsford.gov.uk.
